Job Title: Commercial Manager/Director
Location: Limerick
Salary €100K+DOE
Our client is a Specialised Civil Engineering Contractor in Limerick and is seeking to hire a Commercial Manager/Director. The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial function within the business, ensuring the financial viability and cost control of Projects through strategic planning, risk management, and negotiation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial and contractual management of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare, manage, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Implement commercial strategies to maximize profitability and manage risks.
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare financial reports and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards and practices.
- Manage and mitigate financial risks associated with project delays, cost overruns, and other unforeseen issues.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead the quantity surveying team in measuring, valuing, submitting, and negotiating contract variations.
- Provide commercial and financial advice to the project team.
- Ensure prompt payment and manage cash flow.
- Resolve disputes between parties in a timely and effective manner.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is desirable.
- Proven experience in commercial management within the construction industry, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contract law, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial and project management software.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
