Position: Yard Operative
Location: Baltinglass, Co Wicklow

BSS Building Staff Solutions is hiring a Yard Operative for a timber yard in Baltinglass, County Wicklow.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Yard Operative your responsibilities will include:

• Manually loading, unloading, and handling timber and related products in an outdoor environment
• Using hand tools, including nail guns and saws, to assist with the assembly and preparation of timber products
• Keeping the yard clean, safe, and well-organized, ensuring materials are stacked and stored properly to prevent damage
• Assisting with deliveries and supporting other yard operations as needed

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a manual labour role, ideally in a timber yard, builders’ merchants, or construction environment
• Valid Manual Handling certificate
• Confidence using hand tools (nail gun, saws, etc.); forklift experience is an advantage
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
