Overview

BSS are currently recruiting a Passive Fire Protection Supervisor on behalf of a leading specialist contractor delivering fire protection and life safety projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and data centre developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a strong understanding of passive fire protection systems to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of projects throughout Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise passive fire protection works across multiple projects.
  • Manage site teams and subcontractors carrying out fire stopping and fire protection installations.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project specifications, fire strategies, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Coordinate daily site activities and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct quality inspections and maintain high installation standards.
  • Complete site reports, progress updates, and photographic records.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, and project teams.
  • Assist with planning labour requirements and material deliveries.
  • Support project handover processes and certification requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising passive fire protection works.
  • Strong understanding of fire stopping systems, compartmentation, cavity barriers, fire doors, and structural fire protection.
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or data centre projects.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and fire strategy documentation.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital QA reporting systems.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • FIRAS, IFC, BM TRADA or equivalent fire protection training.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC and certification processes.
  • Experience using digital snagging and reporting platforms.
