Overview

BSS is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager on behalf of a well-established building contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects throughout Leinster.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to develop their career within site management. Working closely with experienced Project Managers and Contracts Managers, the successful candidate will gain exposure to all aspects of project delivery while supporting the successful completion of fit-out and construction projects from inception through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of site operations.
  • Support the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and help manage programme milestones.
  • Liaise regularly with the Project Manager and Contracts Manager regarding site activities and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Assist with site logistics planning and organisation.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and site briefings.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Manage material requisitions and coordinate deliveries in line with project programmes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with site documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Support the implementation of environmental and quality management plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience within a construction site management, engineering, or supervisory role.
  • Trade qualification or construction-related engineering qualification.
  • Current Safe Pass certification.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and subcontractors on site.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ambitious and eager to progress within a growing construction business.
