Buildstaff is currently recruiting experienced Welders / Burners – Torch Operators for a major 3-month project based in Killarney, Co. Kerry.

This position is focused on oxy-fuel torch cutting and burning operations within an industrial environment. The role involves the safe and efficient cutting, dismantling and preparation of steel and metal components in accordance with project specifications and site safety requirements.

Although this is not a pipe welding position, candidates with welding experience and a strong understanding of fabrication and metalworking processes are encouraged to apply. This opportunity is ideal for experienced welders seeking a short-term contract with accommodation and subsistence provided.

• €181 weekly subsistence allowance

• Three-month contract running until 30 September 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate oxy-fuel cutting torches safely and efficiently.
• Carry out burning and cutting activities in accordance with site drawings and specifications.
• Cut, remove and prepare steel and metal components for fabrication or dismantling work.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining productivity targets.
• Inspect equipment before use and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Work effectively as part of a team to support project requirements and deadlines.

Requirements:

• Experience operating oxy-fuel / cutting torches essential
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates
• Valid welding certifications preferred
• References required
