Health & Safety Advisor
BSS is currently recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a well-established residential main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the Greater Dublin area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Health & Safety professional with at least two years construction H&S experience who is looking to further develop their career within a busy and supportive construction environment. The role is predominantly based on projects in Dublin, with one day per week required on a site in Kildare.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across multiple construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Prepare risk assessments, method statements and safety documentation.
- Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents, producing reports and recommendations.
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors and client representatives on all H&S matters.
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure close-out of any non-conformances.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within the construction industry.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, Diploma, Degree or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction health and safety legislation.
- Previous experience working on construction sites is essential.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple project teams.

BSS is currently recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a well-established Irish contractor specialising in crane hire, heavy lifting operations, structural steel, and steel erection projects. Next site is in Kilkenny, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation with a strong reputation for delivering complex lifting and steelwork projects nationwide.
The successful candidate will be based in the Leinster region and will travel regularly to construction and industrial sites, supporting project teams in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across multiple active sites.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Safe Systems of Work.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and clients to ensure best practice is maintained.
- Assist with maintaining ISO management systems and health & safety documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across all projects.
Requirements
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (Diploma or Degree preferred).
- Experience working within construction, structural steel, crane hire, heavy lifting, or a related engineering environment.
- Good knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience preparing RAMS and conducting site audits is highly desirable.
