Our client is a mid-tier general building contractor delivering projects across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, fit-out and heritage sectors. They are recruiting a Site Engineer for a new retail park development in Tullamore, comprising 3 steel frame buildings with block infill, brick external leaf and Kingspan roof cladding, along with all associated groundworks and landscaping.
Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out and survey control across the site, including groundworks and building foundations
- Set out steel frame, blockwork and external envelope works
- Oversee building works on site, checking they are constructed in line with drawings and specifications
- Act as the point of contact for subcontractors and design team members
- Check and prepare site reports, designs and drawings
- Provide technical advice to the site team and resolve queries as they arise
- Support quality control, BCAR compliance and health and safety
- Report directly to the Managing Director and Contracts Manager
Requirements
- Proven Site Engineer experience with a main contractor
- Setting out experience on groundworks and structural steel
- Commercial or retail project experience an advantage
- Able to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
- Good working knowledge of BCAR and QEHS requirements
- Strong communication skills, comfortable dealing with subcontractors and design teams
- Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications
