Construction Estimator (Junior)

Location: Galway office

Salary: €40,000 – €55,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Opportunity

A busy Galway-based construction contractor is looking to appoint a Junior Estimator to strengthen its in-house tendering team. The role offers exposure to a varied pipeline of commercial construction, refurbishment, fit-out and maintenance projects, with support from experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
• Prepare take-offs and support the compilation of competitive tender estimates.
• Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, follow up quotations and maintain enquiry records.
• Compare quotations and assist in identifying scope gaps, exclusions and tender risks.
• Maintain pricing records and organise tender submissions and supporting documents.
• Work with senior estimators, quantity surveyors and project delivery teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant construction, quantity surveying, engineering or related qualification desirable.
• Some construction estimating, tendering or site experience beneficial; suitable graduates considered.
• Good numerical ability, attention to detail and confidence working with spreadsheets.
• Ability to read construction drawings or willingness to develop this skill.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable communicating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Able to work from the Galway office.
