Our client is a civil engineering and groundworks contractor working for main contractors and developers on residential and commercial projects across Dublin and the surrounding areas. They are recruiting a Senior Engineer to lead the engineering function on their projects, setting the strategy for setting out and site control and owning QA and records.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering function on site and set the strategy for setting out and dimensional control
• Set up survey control, including converting global grids to local site grids
• Make sure a detailed topographical survey is completed before any excavation starts
• Carry out as-built surveys on all key elements
• Own QA and records, creating and reviewing ITPs and maintaining the company’s quality procedures
• Check works against specification tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements
• Identify missing information and manage the RFI process
• Lead, supervise and mentor site and graduate engineers
• Work with the main contractor’s engineers on shared works and interfaces
• Track outputs and flag where trades are behind programme or under-resourced
• Act as point of contact for technical and temporary works audits, closing out actions on time
• Carry out health and safety inspections

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years’ experience with a developer or civil engineering contractor
• Large residential or commercial project experience desirable
• Strong understanding of underground services risks and the controls required
• Able to assess temporary works systems for suitability
• Experience with quality management procedures and ITPs
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and digital information systems
• Strong track record on HSSQ standards
• Clear communicator with colleagues, clients and third parties
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications

SENIOR ENGINEER – WATERMAIN REPLACEMENT

Salary €75K-€80K DOE 
BSS are recruiting a Senior Engineer for recently secured design-and-build watermain replacement works in
County Wexford. The position will suit an experienced civil engineer with a strong site background and
experience in water, utilities, pipelines or similar infrastructure works.

The Role
Working as a key member of the site management team, you will take responsibility for engineering delivery,
setting out, technical coordination, QA/QC and supporting the safe and efficient progress of the works.
Key Responsibilities
 Provide engineering and technical support across the project.
 Manage setting out, surveying and site engineering requirements.
 Coordinate drawings, specifications and technical information.
 Maintain QA/QC records and ensure works comply with project requirements.
 Support programme planning and monitor site progress.
 Liaise with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
 Assist with resolving technical and site issues as they arise.
Requirements
 Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
 Strong site engineering experience on civil infrastructure projects.
 Water, utilities or pipeline experience strongly preferred.
 Previous Uisce Éireann / Irish Water project experience would be an advantage.
 Strong setting-out, QA/QC and technical coordination skills.
 Must currently reside in Ireland, have the right to work in Ireland and be within commuting distance of the
Wexford project.
 Notice period should not exceed a few weeks.
