Location: Duleek, Co Meath
Salary: €45K – €65K DOE
Hours: Full time 5 days
Opportunity has now arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with at least 12 months experience to join an established Modular Building contractor based in the office in Meath.

-Qualification/degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent,
-Ideally One to Five years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor,
-Experience in Modular Building an advantage

Summary of role
To support the commercial performance of projects and profitable growth of the business. The Quantity Surveyor provides sufficient evidence to support payment claims against project targets,
monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects commercially.
Responsibilities
Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work. Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you
To assist with P&L responsibility for projects whilst working within the delegated levels of authority issued by the contract manager
Support estimating and tender preparation then use the costing information as a basis for monitoring performance against pre-determined costs etc
Provide assistance with project planning functions, help define project budget and pricing additional works / variations to contract
To help determine client requirements, assess and compare options available and ensure designs meet budget and legal / quality standards
Aid in the preparation of cost plans, estimates and cash flow projections, supporting procurement activities, advising on packaging and bills of quantity etc
Co-ordinate with commercial managers with format & content of contractual correspondence
Help prepare for final account meetings to resolve major accounts for measured work, loss and expense claims or contra charges, assisting the commercial position of the business and ensuring it is fully protected at all times. To carry out labour target and incentive
payment calculations
Carry out feasibility studies, and risk / value management exercises, identifying and escalating commercial problems to the contract manager
Calculate and agree monthly valuations with clients, generate invoices and assist credit control with any delayed payments
To support the reporting of clear and accountable work in progress (WIP) with controls and measures that support the monitoring of performance against tender and contract valuations
Ensure all costs are checked and, where necessary, inaccuracies reported to the senior quantity surveyor and/or contract manager
What you need to have:
Qualification/degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent,
Five years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor,
Experience in Civils & Utlilties Projects
Knowledge of various contract types and legal framework

Overview
You will assist other Quantity Surveyors and Managing Surveyor in the day to day running of Surveying Department. This will include various quantity surveying duties and management of subcontractors, materials management, quality management, resource management, and general administration.
- Procurement of subcontractors including compiling of tenders, replying to queries from subcontractors, assessing tenders and issuing contract documents at appointment.
- Managing subcontractor’s accounts throughout contracts from appointment to final accounts including issuing payment recommendations, contract administration and assisting Managing Surveyor in settlement of subcontractor’s final accounts.
- Preparation of bills of quantities including take-off and assisting in compiling rates/budgets.
- Assist in contract tendering from compiling subcontract packages, obtaining quotations, to pricing works.
- Prepare and submit interim valuation submissions for contracts.
- Occasional site visits to gather information and make records for surveying/cost items.
- Preparing budgets, cashflows, Cost Reports and project programming and monitoring and updating of same.
- Liaise with our Finance Department and provide all costs information as necessary to compile Monthly Cost Reports.
- Assist in the Materials Purchasing function of the Company by providing administrative support.
- Various ad-hoc surveying duties
Desired Skills and Experience
5 plus years proven experience with academic or professional qualifications
Excellent communication, presentation and people management skills
