Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

Building Staff Solutions (BSS) are looking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) with Professional Experience for our client, one of Ireland’s leading Quantity Surveying and Project Management Consultancies. This role will be based in their London office and the successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in a professional Quantity Surveying practice.

Job Description

• The first 6 months of the role with be on site in the Westminster area doing variations on final accounts on a high end refurb
• Manage one or more projects from the planning stage through to completion
• Assist in the preparation of initial budgets and cost plans
• Internal cost reporting
• Final account submissions, assessment and negotiations
• Prepare works tender packages, analyse and compare on quotations received, make recommendations for appointment
• Complete sub-contract documentation in accordance with company procedures
• Manage work packages from appointment through to final account including certifying payments and issuing the appropriate notices as required by the sub-contract
• Monitoring works packages against budget, assessing variation claims and preparing reports for Client
• Submitting timely requests for payment, agreement of these with Client’s representative where appropriate and ensuring payments are received in accordance with agreed timescales

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in a professional practice.
• Experience in a commercial or retail setting.
• Degree qualified
• Proficient in the use of BuildSoft and Cubit.
• Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and completing projects under budget.
• Preferably a member of RICS, SCSI or CIOB
