Mechanical Engineer

The Role

BSS is currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a leading mechanical engineering contractor for a pharmaceutical project at the Eli Lilly site in Limerick.

This is an immediate-start contract role for approximately 12 weeks, supporting the commissioning and project close-out phase.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical walkdowns across completed installations.
• Generate and manage punch lists/snag lists.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure outstanding items are completed.
• Track progress of punch list items through to completion.
• Liaise with the client and project management team.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with project quality and safety standards.
• Assist with project handover documentation where required.

Requirements

• Degree or trade-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
• Previous experience on pharmaceutical, process, industrial or large-scale mechanical projects.
• Experience carrying out walkdowns and compiling punch lists.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
