Our client is a main contractor recruiting Site Engineers for two aparthotel projects in Dublin, one in the city centre and one in Donnybrook. Demolition starts shortly and they are building out the site teams across both. With substructure and groundworks first out of the ground, this suits an engineer from an infrastructure or civils background. The Site Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, translating design into works on the ground and coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
Responsibilities
- Setting out site works using robotic total station, GPS and other survey equipment
- Overseeing day to day site activities in line with programme, drawings and specification
- Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trades to maintain workflow
- Conducting inspections to ensure works comply with drawings and quality standards
- Maintaining the daily site diary and accurate records of site activity
- Managing plant, labour and materials, including daywork and supplier orders
- Resolving technical issues on site and communicating design changes to the team
- Site inductions, toolbox talks and risk assessments under the safety management system
- Acting as the on site point of contact for contractors, suppliers, inspectors and regulatory authorities
- Reporting to the Project Manager on progress, resources and any issues affecting programme or budget
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
- 5+ years as a Site Engineer in construction
- Infrastructure, civils or groundworks background
- Strong setting out skills with robotic total station and GPS
- Experience on medium to large scale projects
- Familiarity with Irish construction regulations and standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Project
