The Role
An established main contractor with an expanding project pipeline is recruiting an Engineer for active residential and commercial schemes across the Greater Dublin Area, Wicklow, Wexford, and the South East.
You will manage site engineering activities, Quality Assurance compliance, design coordination, and subcontractor oversight from groundworks through to completion.
Key Responsibilities

On-Site Engineering: Coordinate site engineering activities to ensure works meet design specifications and industry standards.

Quality Assurance: Execute QA compliance, perform site inspections, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Technical Resolution: Liaise with design teams, contractors, and site staff to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.

Subcontractor Oversight: Supervise subcontractor performance and verify completed works against design drawings.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory and company standards for health, safety, and the environment.

Progress Tracking: Monitor project timelines, identify potential delays, and provide technical support to the site team.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering roles on residential or commercial construction projects in Ireland.

Technical Capability: Strong background in technical verification, QA compliance, and drawing interpretation.

Site Operations: Proven track record working with main contractors, design teams, and trade sub-contractors.

Our client is an established residential developer with over 30 years in the business and more than 4,000 homes delivered. They are recruiting a Site Engineer for a housing development in Wexford. This is a setting out focused role rather than a survey heavy one.
Responsibilities
- Setting out across the development, including roads, drainage, foundations and house units
- Working from construction drawings and specifications to ensure works are built as designed
- Checking levels and dimensions as works progress
- Liaising with the Site Manager and subcontractors on sequencing and site queries
- Keeping accurate site records and as built information
- Supporting quality control and health and safety on site
Requirements
- Site Engineer experience on residential or civils projects
- Strong setting out skills, including total station and level
- Able to read and work from construction drawings
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications

Site Engineer

Our client is an established mid-tier main contractor recruiting a Site Engineer to work across multiple projects in the Midlands and Dublin. The role reports to the Site Manager and takes overall responsibility for setting out on site.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for setting out on site
- Ensure the building is set out and constructed exactly as per the construction drawings, reviewing drawings and specifications on an ongoing basis
- Ensure quality of build and workmanship is up to standard
- Follow health and safety procedures and report any issues to the Site Manager
- Review subcontractor and supplier packages, attend prestart meetings and weekly subcontractor meetings
- Assist the Site Manager in managing civils and structural subcontractors
- Notify the Site Manager, Project QS and Project Manager of any cost or delay issues immediately, and issue information requested by the QS on time
- Keep accurate records of design changes and prepare as-built records, including drawings, surveys and photos
- Review the two week lookahead so works are planned and materials are on site in time for civil and structural elements
- Attend project team and design team meetings, and weekly civils and structural progress meetings
- Order materials, arrange plant and staff so the site has what it needs when required
- Support BCAR compliance and assist the Site Manager with QEHS
- Maintain strong relationships with the client and design team
Requirements
- Proven Site Engineer experience with a main contractor
- Strong setting out and survey control skills
- Able to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
- Good working knowledge of BCAR and QEHS requirements
- Strong attention to detail on quality and workmanship
- Full, clean driving licence, with flexibility to travel between projects
- Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications
