Role: Site Engineer
Location: Site based, North Leinster
Salary: Negotiable, with a suitable benefits package

Our client is recruiting a Site Engineer to work on residential projects in the North Leinster region. The role is setting out focused and sits alongside the site management team, with a clear route into site management for an engineer looking to take that step. Project scale varies, so you get exposure across a number of schemes rather than a single long run on one site.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day to day setting out on site
• Ensure the works are built in line with drawings, design details and specification
• Manage site information, covering specifications, design drawings and design issues
• Engage with the design team to resolve issues arising during construction
• Liaise with and support the Site Manager to keep the project running smoothly
• Deputise for the Site Manager when required
• Ensure EHS and quality systems are adhered to on site
• Manage material quality
• Coordinate with the local authorities
• Resolve technical difficulties and unexpected problems as they arise
• Prepare reports as required

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Construction or Engineering
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a Site Engineer role
• Residential experience is essential
• Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and problem solving ability
• Clear understanding of current construction and health and safety regulations
• Strong communicator, able to work as part of a site team and hit deadlines
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Full clean European driving licence, or working towards one

Responsibilities

• Setting out and survey control across the site
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors on site
• Carrying out quality checks against drawings and specifications
• Keeping accurate site records, as built information and progress reports
• Liaising with the main contractor and client representatives
• Supporting health and safety compliance on site

Requirements

• Site Engineer experience on civils or public realm projects
• Strong setting out skills, including total station, GPS and level
• Able to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
• Experience coordinating subcontractors
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications

Our client is an established mid-tier main contractor recruiting a Site Engineer to work across multiple projects in the Midlands and Dublin. The role reports to the Site Manager and takes overall responsibility for setting out on site.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for setting out on site
• Ensure the building is set out and constructed exactly as per the construction drawings, reviewing drawings and specifications on an ongoing basis
• Ensure quality of build and workmanship is up to standard
• Follow health and safety procedures and report any issues to the Site Manager
• Review subcontractor and supplier packages, attend prestart meetings and weekly subcontractor meetings
• Assist the Site Manager in managing civils and structural subcontractors
• Notify the Site Manager, Project QS and Project Manager of any cost or delay issues immediately, and issue information requested by the QS on time
• Keep accurate records of design changes and prepare as-built records, including drawings, surveys and photos
• Review the two week lookahead so works are planned and materials are on site in time for civil and structural elements
• Attend project team and design team meetings, and weekly civils and structural progress meetings
• Order materials, arrange plant and staff so the site has what it needs when required
• Support BCAR compliance and assist the Site Manager with QEHS
• Maintain strong relationships with the client and design team

Requirements

• Proven Site Engineer experience with a main contractor
• Strong setting out and survey control skills
• Able to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
• Good working knowledge of BCAR and QEHS requirements
• Strong attention to detail on quality and workmanship
• Full, clean driving licence, with flexibility to travel between projects
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications
