My client is a leading Irish Tier 2 main contractor delivering projects across education, healthcare, residential, commercial and industrial sectors. They are recruiting a Site Engineer for a residential mixed use development in Athlone. This is a setting out focused role.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for setting out across the development, covering roads, drainage, foundations and unit layouts
• Work from drawings and specifications to ensure the build matches the design
• Check levels and dimensions as works progress across multiple units
• Keep accurate site records, as built information and progress reports-+
• Liaise with the Site Manager and subcontractors on sequencing and site queries
• Support quality control, BCAR compliance and health and safety

Requirements

• Proven Site Engineer experience with a main contractor
• Residential or mixed use development experience
• Strong setting out skills, including total station, GPS and level
• Able to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
• Good working knowledge of BCAR requirements
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications

• Set out foundations, drainage, structures and levels as works progress
• Work from drawings and specifications to ensure the build matches the design
• Check dimensions and levels ahead of and following each stage of works
• Keep accurate site records, as built information and progress reports
• Liaise with the Site Manager and subcontractors on sequencing and site queries
• Support quality control, BCAR compliance and health and safety

Site Civil Engineer (Setting Out)

A well-established Main Contractor  with a strong pipeline of work is seeking a Site Civil Engineer
for a  housing development in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 3+ years’ experience to join a busy
project team delivering high-quality residential units.

Key Responsibilities

– Setting out for all elements of the works including groundworks, roads, drainage, and
housing units
– Interpreting drawings and specifications to ensure accurate construction on site
– Liaising with subcontractors, site management, and design teams
– Ensuring works are completed in line with project programme and quality standards
– Maintaining accurate site records, including as-built surveys and reports
– Assisting with quality control and health & safety compliance on site
– Monitoring and coordinating subcontractor activities

Requirements

– Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
– Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a site engineering role (residential/civils preferred)
– Strong setting out experience using Total Station and GPS equipment
– Good knowledge of Irish construction standards and site practices
– Excellent communication and organisational skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
