- Ireland’s tallest residential building is taking shape in Cork (Source: Construction News IE)
Cork is on track to reclaim the title of having Ireland’s tallest residential building as the main core of the 25-storey Railyard development, which now stands at over 85.5 metres, was completed on 28 March. Specialist contractor Slipform UK poured over 1,700 cubic metres of concrete and tied over 225 tonnes of reinforcing steel.

2. €80m waste-to-energy plant under construction in Cork (Source: RTE)
An €80 million waste-to-energy plant is being constructed in Little Island in Co Cork. Its backers say it will be the biggest project of its kind in the country and, once it is operational next year, will generate enough energy to power around 6,000 homes. Stream BioEnergy is an Irish-headquartered developer, owner and operator of renewable biogas facilities across Ireland and the UK.

3. Dublin construction firm launches multi-million euro housing development plans for county Cavan village (Source: Independent IE)
A Dublin based construction firm has set its sights on adding a multi-million euro residential development to a county Cavan village and, in so doing, ease unrelenting housing demand levels. Woodfort Homes Ltd has tabled plans to construct 34 homes on a four acre site at at Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan in a development that is expected to cost in excess of €10m to bring on stream.

4. Vodafone Ireland announces further €360 million investment as it moves to new Dublin city center HQ (Source: Irish Tech News IE)
Vodafone Ireland has announced a further €360 million investment, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Ireland, as it makes final preparations to move to its new headquarters in St Stephen’s Green next week.
The investment includes a further €200 million in its mobile network – building on the company’s €500 million, five-year network investment programme announced in 2023 – and €160 million in digital and IT spend up to 2030.
